Dear Bayside STEM Families,

This week you will notice that we have a Wednesday PTSA meeting at 7:30 a.m. in the Staff room. Please attend this important meeting, as Superintendent, Dr. Cynthia Simms, will be providing information about the challenges and promise of the future in the District. Her overview includes information about growing enrollment, facilities improvements, and technology upgrades among many important topics.  Dr. Simms will provide parents the opportunity to respond to her presentation and to ask questions. This is a great opportunity to learn about the District Vision. I hope we see you there.

On a different note, please take a moment to congratulate yourselves for organizing snacks for our students during STAR testing. It has been exciting to see requests for donations and helpers have been answered far and wide. Thank you to all who contributed to make testing sessions food ready! Students are super grateful as they complete testing and make-ups this week.

Finally, thank you for future contributions to our Parent Survey and Focus Groups. We will send our survey via email using lists available through Schoolloop and Constant Contact. Randomly selected parents will be invited to attend Focus Groups to discuss the successes and challenges inherent in raising children, the role of the middle school, and what Bayside STEM can do to be more responsive to your respective wish lists.  We will use this information as we reflect upon our year and plan for 2012-2013. You may recall that students also take a survey at the beginning and the end of the year. We do find the information enlightening, so please participate.

Have a great week!

Sincerely,

Jeanne Elliott and Christie Miller

PTSA Association Meeting

The meeting will include updates on PTSA activities, gathering input on priorities for next year's PTSA work plan and budget, and a presentation by our district superintendent, Dr. Cynthia Simms.  The meeting will take place in the Teacher Lounge. We hope to see you there

Scholastic Book Fair

Scholastic Book Fair will be held June 10-14. Students are really excited about it! We need parent volunteers to make it work. If you can spare a morning, afternoon (or more) please email Angela Abeyta at aabeyta1111@sbcglobal.net. Angela is organizing the volunteer schedule. If you can only come in at lunchtime, that would help too.

The SamTrans Summer Youth Pass is back!
