STAR Testing will be in mid-May We need granola bars & volunteers!!!
Studies have shown that eating a healthy breakfast supports learning and student achievement. Star Testing is scheduled to begin on May 16th and will last for 2 weeks.
During this time we would like to provide our students a healthy breakfast. In order to do this, we need about 3000 more granola bars for the 8 days of testing, and are asking families to make donations on or before Monday, May 13th. You may leave your donations with Ms. Miller or Ms. Singh at the office.
We are also looking for parent volunteers to assist with packaging breakfast items for students prior to STAR Testing dates, and with the set-up of the packages in the Teacher's Lounge for distribution on STAR Testing dates. Please email (pam.capinaris@att.net) if you are able to assist on one or more of the dates listed below.
Thank you in advance for your generosity and helping our students succeed!

Scholastic Book FairScholastic Book Fair will be held June 10-14. Students are really excited about it! We need parent volunteers to make it work. If you can spare a morning, afternoon (or more) please email Angela Abeyta at aabeyta1111@sbcglobal.net. Angela is organizing the volunteer schedule. If you can only come in at lunchtime, that would help too. The SamTrans Summer Youth Pass is back! The 2013 Summer Youth Pass goes on sale May 21. The Summer Youth Pass costs $40 and is good for unlimited travel for kids 17 years and younger from June 1 through Aug. 31, a significant savings compared to purchasing a Monthly Pass for each summer month.
The Summer Youth Pass offers kids and teens independent, safe and affordable transportation to summer destinations. Details about this year's Summer Youth Pass program are online at www.samtrans.com/syp.
